One year following the release of the New York electronic act’s sophomore album, Vexillary began teasing a new helping of eerie audio horror, now culminating in the third full-length effort. Weaving together an outsider blend of darkwave, techno, and dub-inspired bass with fantastical and Lovecraftian visuals, Horror in Dub explores the fragility of the human form transformed by cosmic forces both terrible and beautiful. With vocals provided by regular associate Baylee and newcomer Madishu, the lyrics to the title track offer the best description, “I found love in horror.” Due to arrive on January 19, 2024 via Con:trace, Horror in Dub follows 2022’s Crash and Yearn and was preceded by the “My Vertigo” in September and “Animalic” in October; a third single, “Insurrection” will arrive on December 1. A CGI video for “Animalic” created by Leo Andrade and co-directed by Vexillary’s Reza Seirafi was revealed on November 15.
