Chicago WaxTrax! veterans team up to form Trash Deity
Hailing from Los Angeles, Franke N. Nardiello (a.k.a. Groovie Mann of My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult) and JDN (a.k.a. John D. Norten of Blue Eyed Christ) have joined forces to create Trash Deity, a new industrial project combining the pair’s eclectic musical and production sensibilities. Both veterans of the Chicago WaxTrax! era, the duo has spent the later months of 2016 writing and producing the Run 4 Your Lies! EP, with JDN calling the EP, “a really exciting representation of Groovie Mann and I experimenting and discovering what our sound is.” He goes on to state that, “One song is electronic for the clubs with a pounding bass line and signature Groovie Mann maniacal vocal chants, then another is a sexy dirty strip club anthem,” referring to the EP’s eclectic stylings and the individuality of each song. In addition, the duo has shot a music video for the introductory single “Finger on a Trigger.” The video, featuring a variety of Groovie Mann’s vivid paintings, was created by photographer and graphic artist Neil Kull, having made its premiere on Metal Underground. The song is available as a free download via iTunes and Spotify; no release date has yet been announced for the Run 4 Your Lies! EP.
