Best known for his work in Carrion and MissFit Toys, Norwegian dark electronic artist Hide Tepes has announced the release of his second album under his own name. Drawing on his love for experimental modular synthesis and cinematic ambience, Chrysopoeia follows nearly a full year since Tepes’ From the Mouth Öv Belial; recorded live with no overdubs, the record is meant to capture fleeting moments of inspiration and sonic exploration, playing out in the artist’s words as “The soundtrack to a journey into the depths of the psyche, a collection of sonic polaroids reflecting ephemeral points in time that felt substantial and worthy of preservation.” Due for release on October 1, Chrysopoeia is available to purchase via Bandcamp; the album is the latest in a prolific year for the artist, which has seen the revised edition of Carrion’s Testament Ov the Exiled on Brutal Resonance Records, followed by the “Shatter the Seals” and “Revenant” singles in August and September, respectively.
