Blurb: The long awaited second album from Fractured Transmission is a power noise sonic assault the likes of which you’ve probably heard before.

The initial press of the play button instructs mass amounts of static to be thrown at your ears through the speakers. The woofers screamed viciously and then it hit: the kick drum. The entrance this album makes is nothing short of harsh. Everything has the distortion turned up to 11. As a result, A Willing Suspension of Disbelief just brutalizes you the moment you hit play.

For the power noise fan in all of us, this falls nothing short of what you would expect from Nick Viola. The arrangement of every song is done fairly well; however, there are the moments of repetitiveness. The production and mastering are also done fairly well – you can do power noise and still have phenomenal end results; Manufactura is an example of that. Don’t let that fool you, though. Those who enjoy power noise acts like W.A.S.T.E., Embodi, or ESA will definitely enjoy this second release from Fractured Transmission.

The track “Dis.core.Dance” stands out the most and should be played in every club, if it isn’t already. Viola nails the power noise and four-on-the-floor elements together extremely well, making this probably the best song on this release. Further listening reveals another standout track, “Cyclic.” A melding of very ambient pads that are soon joined by harshly destroyed drumbeats make you feel that if you were to close your eyes, you would see a post-apocalyptic wasteland and one lonely man walking into the sunset, and that’s always welcome. That is, until the song just suddenly and abruptly ends, leaving one thinking that this track would have been better off fading out and into the next “Untitled” track.

For the power noise connoisseur, this second release from Fractured Transmission might leave you wanting more. Consider this release a really delicious appetizer. For the rest of you that enjoy your power noise here and there, this is a great new release you can sink your teeth, or ears, into.
