Episode 4: “ColdWaves and Vanilla Ice Cream”
Recorded: Saturday, October 10, 2015…
Digressions hosts Ilker Yücel and John Galope discuss this year’s ColdWaves IV festival in Chicago, touching on the importance of the event – not just as a tribute to Jamie Duffy, but as an outlet for hope and reaching out to people in the industrial music scene. On top of that, these two grumpy old men discuss the pitfalls of objective and insightful critique against entitled and elitist attitudes, digressing about Melotrons and Nitzer Ebb’s Industrial Complex, with John revealing how he feels about Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon, and how Funker Vogt is the vanilla ice cream of the EBM/industrial scene.
“Digressions” theme song written and produced by White Shadow.
