Brooklyn artist Valerie Gentile has announced the release of her latest single, titled “Fuck Yes,” her first helping of new material since the 2013 Love is Luxury debut EP. Originally composed by The Break Up’s Shane Allen Hall, “Fuck Yes” also features guitar and synth contributions from Gentile’s husband, Combichrist’s Abbey Nex. The single will be available via Gentile’s Bandcamp.
Hall had sent the track to Gentile last summer; “I thought it was such a cool track! It seemed like a really positive statement,” Gentile states. “I was home alone, about to get married and the thought of growing up continued to freak me out. I had high expectations coming from my families and my job to become a real adult, whatever that means!”
Besides her solo work, Valerie Gentile has been a prominent fixture of the industrial/goth scene, recording and touring with Angelspit, Black Tape for a Blue Girl, and The Crüxshadows.
