UNCX releases remastered side project through BandcampElectro/industrial group UCNX has released a remastered album from its 2001 side project Symmetry, titled Blood & Gold, exclusively through Bandcamp. “Symmetry was (and still sort of is) my outlet to explore the more melodic, soundtrack, and ambient realms of electronic music,” says dOUGLAS of UCNX. “Blood & Gold (named for 2 precious materials of 2 very differing natures) is the culmination of one entire, solid year of work, crossing many different genres of electronic music from ambient to ambient techno to techno pop and back again. Sadly, the master files for the album were lost in the Great Computer Crash of 2002, and all that survived of all this hard work was one hastily recorded, un-mastered CD-R. Thanks to the intensive and slavish effort Christian Weber of K-Nitrate/Audiowar, the album has been cleaned up and polished as good as possible, and is finally ready to see the light of day.” The remaster features 12 tracks, along with intensive liner notes and “remastered” album artwork, as well as a free cover of Genesis’ 80’s progressive pop classic “Tonight, Tonight, Tonight.” UCNX released its most recent album, Replicator, in December 2013, featuring remixes of songs from the 2011 album Generation Damaged, as well as cover versions of several of the duo’s influences.
