Mexican electro/rock trio Titan has released a video for “Dama Fina” off of the band’s upcoming fourth studio album, Dama. Produced by indie rock impresario Nick Launay (Nick Cave, Arcade Fire) and previously released on The Beastie Boys’ Grand Royal label, Dama will be released October 28 on ATP Recordings. The album features collaborations with iconic synth legend Gary Numan, Egyptian Lover, and Bananarama’s Siobhan Fahey.
The video for “Dama Fina,” filmed by Rogelio Sikander in a dilapidated rave-friendly warehouse on the outskirts of Mexico City (apparently, one of many of its kind), tells a tale of addiction, longing, and the tension between pleasure and pain. The band says that they “wanted the first single to be a song that people would be uncomfortable with and ‘Dama Fina’ works very well for that purpose.” Set in an allegorical representation of the mind of an addict, the video prowls through themes of exploitation, sex, and death set to a haunting techno groove.
Dama is available for pre-order now through Amazon, iTunes, and Google. Titan is planning a world tour in support of the album in 2017.
