The Tear Garden has kicked of a PledgeMusic campaign for an upcoming album. The long running collaborative project of Edward Ka-Spel of The Legendary Pink Dots and cEvin Key of Skinny Puppy is celebrating its thirtieth year, and is hoping to create, “something extra special.” The last 15 years has seen the project’s albums being created mostly in cyberspace, with Ka-Spel and Key in London and Los Angeles, respectively, and other Pink Dots contributing from Norway. The group says that it is, “hoping that this PledgeMusic campaign will give us the possibility of getting together more in the real world and record in the same room. Who knows, we may even feel inspired to take the thing on the road.” All of the members will be on the same continent when the North American leg of The Legendary Pink Dots’ Aquarian tour kicks off in Portland, Oregon on September 15. With four California stops at the end of the tour, there could be time for a few studio sessions for the Tear Garden.
