The Mute Gods second studio album announced

Progressive/pop rock act The Mute Gods has announced the release of the band’s second album, titled Tardigrades Will Inherit the Earth, for February 24, 2017 via InsideOut Music. Picking up where the previous album, Do Nothing Till You Hear from Me left off with themes of societal control and the outcome of following dogmatic paths, the album is stated to be a darker and more thought-provoking follow-up to the acclaimed 2016 debut. In addition, the album will continue to feature the band’s melodic hooks, but with a heavier, more metal-oriented and expansive rock focus. Bassist/vocalist and band founder Nick Beggs states, “This album asks people to take off their rose-tinted spectacles and consider the reality facing us,” further commenting “Other people understand the state of the world and what’s at stake as we make one terrifyingly bad decision after another.”
Tardigrades Will Inherit the Earth will be available as a limited edition CD digipak, gatefold double-vinyl LP and CD, and digital download. In addition, while the debut album included several special guest musicians, Beggs chose to keep the recording limited to the core trio of himself, keyboardist/producer Roger King, and drummer Marco Minnemann to ensure a tighter focus and consistency. The band recently released the music video for “Nightschool for Idiots,” marking the fifth video release from the debut.
