Another Fall from Grace, the latest album from UK goth/alt. rock band The Mission, has been announced for release on September 30, to be preceded by the Met-Amor-Phosis single on September 2. Produced by vocalist/founder Wayne Hussey and Tim Palmer, Hussey states that this new album “is the long lost missing link between the Sisters of Mercy’s First & Last & Always and The Mission’s God’s Own Medicine, both albums of course that I was heavily involved in making.” The album will feature several guest vocal performances from the likes of Gary Numan, Depeche Mode’s Martin Gore, Evi Vine, and All About Eve’s Julianne Regan; Ville Valo of H.I.M. will appear as a guest vocalist on the Met-Amor-Phosis single. Of the album’s dark themes of isolation, Hussey additionally comments, “I know I did go a little crazy and even a little paranoid during the recording of this album – certainly my mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual well being all suffered during the course of it. And I think that has informed both the music and the lyrics.” He also further states of its classic sound, “I set out this time with the intention of making an album that sounds like 1985. The fact that I feel this has largely been achieved is down to my renewed love for the jingle jangle shimmer of the electric 12-string guitar, which featured heavily on those two previously mentioned albums and now the new Mission album.”
Another Fall from Grace will be available in multiple formats, including CD, deluxe double CD and DVD, 180 gram vinyl, and digital download. Pre-orders for the album are now available via The Mission’s PledgeMusic campaign. In addition, the band will subsequently embark on a 30th Anniversary tour, with support in the UK from special guests Peter Murphy, The 69 Eyes, and The Awakening.
