Swans celebrate Record Store Day with rerelease of debut albumYoung God Records will be reissuing the self-titled debut 12″ EP from experimental/post-punk act Swans on vinyl in honor of April 18, Record Store Day. Originally recorded between August of 1981 and March of 1982 at various studios in New York, and released on Labor Records in 1982, this marks the first time the EP will be available in vinyl since going out-of-print in 1990, when it was then remastered and appended with the debut full-length Filth album; Filth was subsequently reissued on Young God Records in 1999 and 2014 without Swans. The Swans lineup at this time included founder/multi-instrumentalist Michael Gira on bass and vocals, with guitarist Bob Pezzola, drummer Jonathan Kane, and saxophonist Daniel Galli-Duani.
The current lineup of Swans is in the midst of a worldwide tour, which will conclude in summer of this year.
