Christopher Hall and Walter Flakus, founding members of iconic industrial/rock band Stabbing Westward, have reunited in Hall’s band The Dreaming, marking the first time the two have collaborated since the dissolution of Stabbing Westward in 2002. The band has announced its new album, appropriately titled Rise Again, to be released through Metropolis Records on February 10, 2015.
Rounding out the band are Carlton Bost (Orgy, Deadsy), Brent Ashley (Static-X), and one-time Stabbing Westward drummer Johnny Haro. Hall and Haro formed The Dreaming in 2002 following the end of Stabbing Westward, touring over the past decade with bands like Godhead, Ra, and Trust Company. While The Dreaming has featured a more darkwave influenced sound up to now, the band intends Rise Again to be a return to the heavier sound of Stabbing Westward, as evidenced by the kickoff single, “Alone,” available to stream via the band’s SoundCloud.
