Society 1 releases first acoustic song, music videoLos Angeles industrial/metal shock rock act Society 1 delves into new musical territory with the music video for “No Salvation,” marking the band’s first acoustic song. “I envisioned a sound that somehow combined The Doors and Alice in Chains on a very intimate raw level,” states vocalist Matt Zane, who edited and co-directed the videa with Jose Chairez. Zane has established himself as a prominent music video director with Lord Zane Productions, not only helming the bulk of Society 1’s video output, but also having working with artists as diverse as the late Wayne Static, Dopesick, Orgy, and John 5 among others.
“No Salvation” was produced and mixed by guitarist Alex Crescioni at Stygian Sound; Crescioni also performs piano on the song, with the band rounded out by Zane on vocals, DV Karloff on bass, and drummer Iorden Mitev.
Society 1 also recently held a crowdfund campaign for the band’s Doors tribute album Not to Touch the Earth; Zane himiself has been heralded by LA Weekly as an emobidment of “Morrisonesque shamanics.”
