Rustblade has announced the release of Claudio Simonetti’s score to the 1985 Italian horror movie Demons. Produced by Dario Argento and directed by Lamberto Bava, Demons is widely heralded in the horror genre, earning a place on the Bravo TV channel’s 100 Scariest Movie Moments; set for release on May 29, this definitive 30th anniversary release features Simonetti’s full score composed entirely for Demons. Included are a series of bonus demos and unreleased material, along with two video clips, and a poster in a special digipack case on a colored vinyl LP limited to 666 copies. As well, the soundtrack will also be released in a special tin box set, limited to 299 copies, containing a bonus CD of remixes by such artists as ohGr, Cervello Elettronico, :Bahntier//, and Leæther Strip to name a few.
A soundtrack LP was previously widely available containing excerpts of Simonetti’s score along with a variety of rock and heavy metal tracks by the likes of Rick Springfield, Billy Idol, and Mötley Crüe. Earlier this year, Rustblade announced the release of a collection of Simonetti’s past work with Goblin, renowned for composing several horror movie soundtracks in the ’70s.
