Musical producer/sound engineer Bill Kennedy has passed away in Edmonton at the age of 49. Most known for his work with Nine Inch Nails on such releases as Broken and The Downward Spiral, Kennedy also has worked with such artists as 16volt, The Genitorturers, SKOLD, Drown, Dir En Grey, and Deadsy. His legacy extends back into the mid-’80s with artists as diverse as Danzig, Megadeth, Heart, Sepultura, U2, and many more. Details are not yet known as to the cause of his death. This is very sad news. Bill Kennedy was on of the nicest people I met in my years in LA, in the industry or out, which is saying a lot. He also very generous with his studio / engineering knowledge, and offered a lot of helpful advice to industry and studio newbie. he was a real class act, and funny, and talented. And 47 is too goddamn young… RIP, Bill.
