After more than a decade, Raymond Watts – the Mighty Swine of industrial/rock – has announced the release of the first new PIG album since 2005’s Pigmata. Due for release on September 9 on Metropolis Records, The Gospel is described by Watts in his trademark alliteration as “11 lessons for your discipline, desire, and delight.” The album’s release comes two weeks prior to the band’s appearance at this year’s Chicago ColdWaves festival, a featured date on PIG’s upcoming fall tour. Also featured on the album will be fellow ex-KMFDM band mate and opening act for the tour EN ESCH, as well as guitarist extraordinare Mark Gemini Thwaite; Watts performed guest vocals on Thwaite’s solo album, Volumes, while EN ESCH, guitarist Günter Schulz (also ex-KMFDM), keyboardist Z.Marr (Combichrist, Pull Out Kings), and drummer Galen Waling (Left Spine Down, Hate Dept., Julien-K) round out the live lineup. The tour begins in Toronto, ON on September 6 – additional tour dates can be found via the PIG Facebook. The Gospel marks PIG’s third consecutive release with Metropolis, following Pigmata and the 2002 U.S. reissue of 1999’s Genuine American Monster.
