Nine Inch Nails releases Broken filmNine Inch Nails has released the 1993 “NSFW” short film Broken on their website and Tumblr via Vimeo. Within several hours, Vimeo pulled the video from circulation, with Nine Inch Nails stating, “This just wasn’t meant for the masses. There is, however, a certain broad inlet of the sea where the land curves inward, inhabited by people who attack and rob ships at sea, where this video can be downloaded in high quality.”
Directed by the late Peter Christopherson (of Coil and Throbbing Gristle), the film connects the tracks of the Broken EP into a singular “snuff” film, which had not been officially released until now due to its graphic content depicting scenes of extreme violence and sexuality. The film was originally leaked in the ’90s via VHS, finding its way on the internet, with a high quality burnable DVD version subsequently leaking to torrent sites.
