Moogfest adds Pet Shop Boys, M.I.A, Flying Lotus, Dillon Francis, and moreMoogFest, the five day festival honoring pioneering synthesist and inventor Dr. Robert Moog and the legacy of the analog synthesizer, has added acts Pet Shop Boys, M.I.A., Flying Lotus, and Dillon Francis (Mad Decent) to its ever increasing lineup, headlined by a 3-D Kraftwerk performance and CHIC featuring Nile Rodgers. The Pet Shop Boys has become a staple of the electronic genre, labeled the most successful duo in UK music history by The Guinness Book of Records, while Dillon Francis is a renowned pioneer of the moombahton and moombahcore genres. M.I.A. was named one of TIME Magazine‘s 100 Most Influential People in 2010. Flying Lotus was nominated for a VMA in 2013 for his music video “Tiny Tortures.” The festival will be held in Asheville, NC from April 23-27, 2014. General admission and VIP tickets are now on sale via the MoogFest website.
Additionally, MoogFest has added Nick Zinner, Dan Deacon (Yeah Yeah Yeahs), Bradford Cox (Deerhunter), and David X. Cohen (Futurama, The Simpsons) to the daytime performers lineup. The docket also includes Google’s “creative masterminds who are designing the future of audio.” Previously, ReGen reported the addition of artist Laurie Anderson, along with record producer and composer Giorgio Moroder, and score composer Cliff Martinez.
