Moog Music honors Keith Emerson with new modular systemMoog Music honors one of the musicians that pioneered the company’s groundbreaking synthesizer systems; Keith Emerson of progressive rock group Emerson Lake & Palmer. The Emerson Modular System is the company’s faithful recreation of Emerson’s legendary setup, three years in the making, using original documentation, circuit board and art files, and the same assembly and wiring methods as the Moog Music factory in Trumansburg, NY. Utilizing a now rare process, the new Emerson Modular System also features the H.R. Giger designed cover to ELP’s Brain Salad Surgery photo-etched on the aluminum panels.
Emerson has long been associated with Moog Music, having first performed in The Nice before founding Emerson Lake & Palmer in 1970 with Greg Lake and Carl Palmer. ELP’s live performances featuring Emerson utilizing a complex and customized modular system, including several prototype modules, are considered legendary. Emerson was the first to incorporate the massive system in the live setup whereas most artist relegated the instrument to the studio-only. Most recently, Emerson was a headlining performer at the annual Moogfest, which took place April 23-27 in Asheville, NC.
Inquiries and pricing for the Emerson Moog Modular System can be made via the company website.
