Ministry announce next, last albumMinistry has announced the release of From Beer to Eternity, to be released in September through the band’s own 13th Planet Records. Minstry founder Al Jourgensen has declared this to be “Ministry’s last album,” a celebration and memorial to guitarist Mike Scaccia, who co-wrote the tracks of this album in December 2012, a mere three days before his death.
“Mikey was my best friend in the world and there’s no Ministry without him,” Jourgensen says. “But I know the music we recorded together during the last weeks of his life had to be released to honor him. So after his funeral, I locked myself in my studio and turned the songs we had recorded into the best and last Ministry record anyone will ever hear. I can’t do it without Mikey and I don’t want to. So yes, this will be Ministry’s last album.”
Following the death of Scaccia, Jourgensen worked continuously on the album alongside co-producer Sammy D’Ambruoso, and engineer/keyboard programmer Aaron Havill. Guitarist Sin Quirin, bassist Tony Campos, and Ministry live drummer Aaron Rossi also contributed to the recording
The album will follow the release of the autobiography Ministry: The Lost Gospels According to Al Jourgensen, through DaCapo Books. Ministry previously announced the last album as Relapse, released in 2012, which was the follow-up to Ministry’s original last album The Last Sucker, released in 2007.
