Six years after the 2010 release of Answers Come in Dreams, influential electronic act Meat Beat Manifesto is releasing new material while also gearing up for a series of U.S. shows, including a headlining spot at this year’s ColdWaves V event in Chicago on September 23. The band has announced additional dates in Dallas, Houston, and San Francisco, the duo of Jack Dangers and Ben Stokes promising to bring the band’s renowned audio/visual extravaganza back to the masses. With the presidential election currently taking place, MBM has stated that many video samples will be culled from news reports and found footage to make for a timely and topical visual accompaniment to the band’s electronic assault.
In addition, a five track EP of all new material will be available for purchase exclusively on tour. According to the band, the new music, created by the celebrated innovator and Grammy nominated musician Jack Dangers, “continues his trek into experimental territory, merging rhythms, melodies, and texture in a way only he can maneuver.
A full listing of tour dates can be found via the band’s website; Meat Beat Manifesto has also hinted at potentially more live dates in 2017.
