Killing Joke announces new releases for 2013In celebration of the band’s 35th anniversary in 2013, Killing Joke plans to release The Singles Collection: 1979-2012 with a tentative release date of April 15, 2013 on Spinefarm/Universal. While no track list has yet been revealed, the collection is to be made available in multiple formats, including a three-disc edition to feature the band’s 33 singles across two discs and a third of rarities and previously unreleased tracks. As well, a 34-disc super-deluxe version – featuring a 32-page book of rare photos and band commentary, a signed poster, and a branded cigar tube containing original wrappers of cigars smoked by front man Jaz Coleman and late bassist Paul Raven – will also be available, sold directly by the band via PledgeMusic, beginning at £216 (approximately $350).
In addition, Killing Joke plans to return to the studio to record a new album for a late 2013 release, along with a three-disc dub collection and the “Letters from Cythera” book. Live shows in Belgium, France, and the UK are set to begin in March, continuing into the U.S. the following month. Coleman states, “Have a great 2012 and fuck the Mayans! After all, their calendar didn’t predict their own demise.”
