Industrial/rock duo KidneyThieves has announced plans to initiate a Kickstarter campaign during the Thanksgiving season for the band’s upcoming album. To help build up anticipation, vocalist Free Dominguez has posted several sample tracks and behind-the-scenes clips via Instagram; the band states that six songs have been recorded so far, with more in the works. The band is calling on fans to spread the word via Social Media, sharing and tagging photos from the band’s Facebook and Dominguez’s Instagram profiles.
The as yet untitled album marks the band’s first full-length release since 2010’s highly acclaimed Trypt0fanatic, following the 2011 EP The Invisible Plan. In the interim, Bruce Somers has worked on live production and mastering for various artists including Good Charlotte, Filter, and guitarist John 5, as well as composing music for the Lisa Albright directed feature Coming Up Roses, featuring Bernadette Peters, and for the 27th Northrop Grumman National Space Symposium. Meanwhile, Dominguez has released four solo albums since 2012, all supported via crowdfunding campaigns, the most recent of which was this year’s Indigo Blue. She has also made guest appearances on albums by KMFDM, Zeromancer, and Conjure One, as well as appearing on the soundtrack for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.
