Kidneythieves announces new album, launches Kickstarter campaignIndustrial/rock duo Kidneythieves has launched a Kickstarted campaign to fund the band’s fifth album, The Mend; this marks the band’s first full-length release since 2010’s Tript0fanatic, picking up where the 2011 The Invisible Plan EP left off. According to the band, The Mend is “inspired by the current state of the world, the broken systems around us that we need to fix.” Perks from the Kickstarter campaign include bonus tracks, T-shirts and hoodies, as well as handwritten lyric sheets, a 30 minute Skype conversation with band members Free Dominguez and Bruce Somers, and a signed Yamaha guitar used by Somers during the 2002 and 2003 tours. Samples of the album during the recording sessions can be seen/heard via the band’s Instagram page; in addition, Kidneythieves is hosting various contests and free downloads via Instagram during the campaign.
The campaign ends on February 2, 2016.
