Electro/rock group Julien-K has launched an IndieGoGo campaign for the band’s upcoming album, Nightlife in Neon – California Noir, Chapter 2, following the success of 2015’s first chapter, Analog Beaches & Digital Cities. The campaign, which launched at midnight, PST on May 3, was successfully funded within the first two hours, reaching past 160% of the $10,000 goal within the first 12 hours as of the writing of this article. This marks the band’s third consecutive IndieGoGo campaign – Analog Beaches & Digital Cities reached its initial goal of $10,000 within 10 hours of launch and ultimately raised 286%, while the lightning campaign for the “Mannequin Eyes” single and music video held earlier this year reached 288%. “We took a leap of faith with you,” states the band, “and you not only caught us, but you LIFTED us.”
The campaign for Nightlife in Neon concludes in June, with perks including T-shirts, hoodies, shoulder bags, signed CDs and posters, as well as a video Skype session with the band, hand written lyrics, dinner and an acoustic performance, and a vintage boombox used in the “Mannequin Eyes” music video.
