With February 24 marking the band’s 35th anniversary, pioneering electronic act Front 242 has officially announced plans for a re-release of the group’s back catalog via Brussels-based label partner Alfa Matrix. Among the reissues will be the band’s debut Geography, No Comment (including the Politics of Pressure EP), and the group’s last studio outing, 2005’s P.U.L.S.E. (including the Still + Raw EP). Remastered using the most up-to-date audio technology, these reissues will be available in multiple formats, including standard and deluxe CD and vinyl editions. A limited vinyl-sized collector box set will also be made available, featuring bonus audio material and vintage “fan goodies.” Final details are currently being prepared with pre-orders set to launch via Alfa Matrix and Front 242’s official webstore.
Most recently, Front 242 released the Detox Static EP, featuring a remastered version of the band’s classic “Take One” track, with the Lovely Day (Remastered)/Take One (RadicalG Mix) single preceding that. No plans for new studio recordings have been announced.
