Having made its premiere on Revolver Magazine, the music video for “Hold On,” the latest single from the highly anticipated sixth album by Dope has been released. Co-directed by Edsel Dope with acclaimed director Dale Rage Restighini, Dope says of the new single, “It sounds like Dope, but it is clearly very modern and in no way reflects a band who is stuck in its past. The hooks are melodic and memorably, while the musicianship is on full display.” Scheduled for release on October 28 via the band’s own Entertainment One (eOne) Music, Blood Money Part 1 marks Dope’s first album of new material since 2009, and will be available in multiple formats featuring numerous bonuses; it is currently available for pre-order via iTunes and the band’s own website. Of the album, Edsel Dope states, “This is, by far, the most personal and vulnerable piece of art that I’ve ever released,” further commenting on its “totally uninhibited” presentation and concluding, “I hope that the vulnerability and sincerity will resonate with people.”
The band’s Die Mother Fucker Die reunion tour, with support from Flaw and Motograter, will begin on September 13.
