David Bowie announces new album, releases new videoThe incomparable David Bowie surprised fans worldwide on January 8, the artist’s 66th birthday, with the announcement of his newest album, The Next Day, to be released in March through Columbia Records. This marks Bowie’s 30th studio album release, breaking the decade-long hiatus since the release of Reality in 2003.
As part of the announcement, Bowie unveiled a video for the first single off the album, “Where Are We Now?” The video is viewable on YouTube, while the track is currently available for purchase through iTunes.
The Next Day sees Bowie reuniting with longtime collaborator and producer Tony Visconti, who previously worked with Bowie on albums Space OddityYoung AmericansScary Monsters, Heathen, and Reality. The album will be available in a 14-track standard edition and 17-track deluxe edition; it releases March 8 in Australia, March 11 worldwide, and March 12 to the U.S.
