With 16 days remaining in the crowdfunding campaign for the upcoming album Stripped, Daniel Ash is offering to his audience a new electro version of “So Alive.” Originally released by Love and Rockets in 1989, the song is the first taste of what fans can expect from Stripped, featuring newly recorded version s of songs from Ash’s catalog with Bauhaus, Tones on Tail, and Love and Rockets.
The Pledge Music campaign was originally set to end on May 17, but has now been extended to June 5, having reached at the time of this writing 63% of its goal. Besides offering Stripped in multiple formats, other incentives include vinyl records, original artwork, and at the highest payment level Ash’s Heritage Softail HD motorcycle.
“It’s very strange times for musicians because, um, it’s free. You can’t sell music,” as Ash stated in a recent interview with Noisey. “The reason for this is to get people on board.”
