ColdWaves IV band lineup announced! The official lineup for the fourth installment of Chicago’s ColdWaves festival has been announced, featuring legendary industrial/metal band Godflesh as the main headliner. In addition, other luminaries of the genre including Front Line Assembly, Pop Will Eat Itself, Lustmord, Severed Heads, and a special reunion of Paul Barker’s Lead into Gold. Other acts on the lineup will be announced in the coming week.
Festival founder and owner of Cracknation Records Jason Novak states, “Celebrating the city’s relationship with industrial music, the event focuses on the more experimental and musical aspects of the genre, showcasing rare apperances by original forebears as well as innovative up and comers.” Past ColdWaves events heralded the return of such acts as The Clay People, Final Cut, and Front 242, while also featuring such newer talents like 3Teeth, Youth Code, Author & Punisher, and Cocksure.
The ColdWaves festival was founded in association with the Hope for the Day charity to battle suicide in the wake of the passing of renowned musician/producer Jamie Duffy. As with the previous two installments, ColdWaves IV will take place in Chicago at Metro on September 25-26. Food trucks, vendors, DJs, and a special kickoff party the preceding Thursday will also be featured.
Limited two-day passes for ColdWaves IV will go on sale on April 10 via the venue’s website.
