Industrial/rock act Chamber of Echoes has released a new single, titled “Limitless,” now available as a free download via the band’s SoundCloud. According to the band, this single is but the first in a series of free singles to precede the long awaited debut full-length album, World of Silence, nearing completion after four years in production and following two failed attempts to record the album. In a statement issued by vocalist/programmer Klaryssa Korolenkov, “‘Limitless’ was one of the last salvageable files remaining from our second time recreating this album. We decided to keep it as is and not try to recreate it because a lot of sound design and work went into producing it that would be hard to replicate. We took the file, cleaned it up, and now are giving it to you, because we didn’t want something with so much meaning to us to go unheard.”
World of Silence began production four years ago, but was halted following a robbery in which the band’s main computer containing the full recordings and files had been stolen. A second attempt two years later suffered a similar fate with a hard drive corruption, with few MP3 files salvaged via e-mail correspondence. Korolenkov states, “We have recreated this album for the third time. But not all is lost because now our music has evolved to something greater than we could have foreseen. I guess third time’s a charm, right?” She concludes with a thank you message to “everyone for your support through the years, and for sticking by us through and through. Though it has been a long time, we promise this album will be worth the wait. Everything happens for a reason.”
Chamber of Echoes first emerged as Korolenkov’s solo project with the 2010 dual EP Unbound and Set Free + Under Lock and Key; the following year, the project evolved into a fully fledged band with the Asylum EP, and the “Fatal Attraction” single in 2014. The band has performed throughout the West Coast of the United States and has earned numerous music awards and nominations.
