Klayton – the matermind behind hybrid electro/rock act Celldweller and industrial/metal band Circle of Dust – has announced the launch of a new audio company, Refractor Audio, with Solaris being the company’s first software release. A sample-based instrument designed for Native Instruments’ Kontakt, Solaris offers over 2,000 unique samples in 24bit/44.1 kHz audio created by Klayton in his studio (the Celldweller Spaceship), five unique step sequencers, over 1,400 loops, 650 one-shot sounds, 101 Kontakt instruments, and the Solaris Probability Engine to “mix, mash, and modulate them into new and exciting sounds.” Solaris will be available on May 17; pre-orders are available via the Refractor Audio website. Notable musicians that have worked with Solaris include Richard Devine, Blaqk Audio’s Jade Puget, Zardonic, and Atlas Plug’s Tom Salta.
