Apoptygma Berzerk to release new album compiling three EPs

Apoptygma Berzerk has announced Exit Popularity Contest, a fix-up of the 12-inch EPs Stop Feeding the Beast, Videodrome, and Xenogenesis. The album focuses on instrumentals, channeling founder Stephan Groth’s influences and transmuting them into a new sound which complements the existing APOP catalog. Echoes of the analog soundscapes of Kraftwerk, Tangerine Dream, Jean-Michel Jarre, Vangelis, and Klaus Schulze mingle with the insistent Krautrock rhythms of Neu!, Cluster, and La Dusseldorf to create an homage to the Golden Age of electronic music while marching steadily into the future. Exit Popularity Contest is set for release on October 8 via prominent metal label The End Records, and is available for pre-order on CD, cassette, and 2LP vinyl now via Storming the Base.
