Alex Reed publishes written history of industrial musicS. Alexander Reed – writer, professor, and founder of ThouShaltNot – has released his book Assimilate: A Critical History of Industrial Music, published by Oxford University Press. Reed explores the genre’s history, from its technophilic origins in Futurism to England’s 1970s scrapyard squats to the strobe-lit dance floors of goth clubs today, citing  over 50 artist interviews, hundreds of nearly impossible to find hand-printed zines, countless recordings, and the author’s own commentary. S.
