MSI - Live in Baltimore, by Jessica Jastrzebski

Ever blurring the lines between genres, Mindless Self Indulgence is perhaps the quintessential crossover act. From blistering electronics to scathing punk rock abandon, topped off with irreverent lyrics, MSI is quite simply one of the most uniquely successful entities in modern music. While on tour in the United States, ReGen Magazine’s Jessica Jastrzebski was able to catch the band’s performance at Baltimore’s premiere rock venue, Rams Head, on March 20, 2014, capturing the How I Learned to Stop Giving a Shit and Love Mindless Self Indulgence tour with a bang! Displaying vicious, primal energy with a mixture of onstage acrobatics and sheer powerful volume, MSI demonstrates virile punk rock bravado the likes of which are unmatched in today’s crop of genre acts. Perhaps just as boistrous as the band, if not more so, is MSI’s audience, a fiercely loyal and raucous bunch and the quartet of vocalist Jimmy Urine, guitarist Steve Righ?, bassist Lyn Z, and drummer Kitty clearly love performing for them.
With the tour ending on April 15 in Los Angeles, if you haven’t yet caught MSI on the How I Learned to Stop Giving a Shit and Love Mindless Self Indulgence tour, now’s the time to do so before the band embarks on its promised hiatus.

Just saw them in Toronto last week and they were awesome as always – took my husband, it was his first time seeing them and he said they were one of the best live performance he’s ever seen! They do not disappoint
