The new 12-track Freezepop album is here and it is going to rock your world. The in-store date for Fancy Ultra Fresh is May 25, but you can get it preordered at the Freezepop Web site now. There will also be a special limited edition with deluxe packaging. This is an enhanced CD, and also features the "Stakeout" video, live footage and more. The mulimedia part is made by The Barbarians Group, an Internet company located in Boston, Massachusetts. Formed in 1999, Freezepop is the union of Liz Enthusiasm (vocalist/fashion plate), the Duke of Pannekoeken (programmer extraordinaire) and Sean T. Drinkwater (synths/vocoder/wacky hijinks). Freezepop were born out of the glory days of synthpop, inspired by '80s electro-pop and synth heroes like Kraftwerk, Depeche Mode, Human League and related analog acts, but with their tentacles wrapped tightly around the future. They are old school but fresh; they have a unique sound, an excellent sense of humor, quirky lyrics, clear female vocals and a generally fun, upbeat and pop-friendly outlook. So far these guys have released one official album, Freezepop Forever, an EP, Fashion Impression Function and a remix album, Hi-Five My Remix, and were featured on numerous synthpop and electroclash compilations. The album is released via the Archenemy record company. You can listen to some sampler tracks from the new album on the official Freezepop Web site.
